Bottom paint for the tender - ablative or hard?

Contemplating keeping the tender permanently in the water. The boat gets utilized in Florida and the Bahamas. When at rest it is in still salt water (no current). Will put on a trailer occasionally for quick trips, maintenance and storage during hurricanes. Looking for some guidance on utilizing ablative or hard paint on the bottom given these circumstances. Thanks!

Still looking for feedback. Spoke to the yard yesterday, they are recommending the following:

    • New bottom prep - Clean and Sanding
    • Barrier Coat (Grey)
    • Two coats of bottom paint (Hydrocoat-SR, ablative, black)
    • Third coat at the water line (Hydrocoat-SR, ablative, black)
    • Bracket painted & engine tip (Metal paint)
    • Underwater lights (Metal paint)

If you truly are leaving it in the water that much, then do the same thing on the bottom as the big boat.
Ours is not in longer than 2 weeks at a time, and has micron csc. Big boat has seahawk ablative 2 coats, 3rd on waterline as you describe.

If you beach your tender as often as we do you may want reconsider the ablative.
