Re: what prep and primer to use on engine components?
Bob,I just stripped a bunch of metal on my port side gear working on my oil pressure issue. Hate the problem but the good news is I found some heavy corrosion on banjos and some low lying piping. It was great to be able to clean up the rust and treat with ospho. Probably pull the pumps and pipes to do a proper prime and paint. Without the ospho, clean metal shows the beginnings of rust in about 2 hours.

Is Rust Bullet any cheaper or better than the POR 15 line of products?

POR 15 make an engine paint, though, I've used it, it is single stage, and very durable. Just don't get it on your hands. It takes WEEKS to come off.
