    not necessary with cummins engines.

Sound, temp and moisture control are very important. Theres no easy way to rip it ll out and do it again later.

Starboard is Out! These guys made it look easy, just over an hour betweennthe time they started lifting and it was out on the aft deck.

    Re: 53 MY Repower, started!

The not so fun part of the project starts with the clean up of 47 years of assorted crud in the ER and bilge.
Just think how nice the ER will be with fresh paint and all of the new pieces and parts.
    Keep the pictures coming.

I m not doing the cleaning and having more space will be nice too. The Cummins are almost 12" more narrow

The extra room will be like having a walk around engine room on both sides. Can’t wait to see the photos of the install. What kind of time frame did you get for the complete job?

    Re: 53 MY Repower, started!

Tomorrow will two weeks since the haul out. Figure another 2 weeks to clean and paint, install the new stabs then engines go in. The bulk of the work should be done by Christmas.

The bigger unknown will be building the fiberglass weatherboard replacement and then painting the hull.

Realistically we should splash late January.

    Time lapse video

The crane couldn't reach all the way in for the load so they used a beam and supports. Crane will pick up the engine from the aftdeck in the morning

Only took a little over an hour from the time they started lifting...

    Port comes out tomorrow
