Thread: Fall Adventure

    Fall Adventure

A friend and I are bringing a 52' Regal from Dysart Marina in Maine, down to Wilmington NC next week. Range is about 320 miles on the boat. Any suggestions for ports to stay in, and places to miss? We'll be running 20-25kts depending on sea conditions.

Is this one of the woody woodpecker looking pod boats?

I hear they don't like rough seas.

It's a unique boat. 52 feet.. 34k lbs, pod drives. We'd like to port every night.

They do lots of repairs and fit outs on them here. Keep close to shore. And bring your waterwings in case ...

34k #'s- that's the weight of a Hatt 43'...always find the Hatt weight differentials to other brands interesting. Only the hull is primary area of difference, so says something about the Hatt hull content.

1st time in these waters, so we're not taking any chances. Got new batteries in the EPIRB, and caution is the word of the day!

Good advice..we lost a transmission in 5 foot seas and limped in to Jonesport Maine. We're stuck here for at least 3 days because if weather/seas. Transmission blew the fill cap, and bathed the ER in gear oil. Refilled and tighted cap, (probably loose from last service). All appears normal now..no alarms ever sounded. Boat should be named The Roly Poly..
