Internet cable wire and fittings

The Comcast Xfinity installer hooked me up on the starboard side. I have now turned the boat around and need to install a connection on the port side.

I will need a good crimping tool and best quality cable and connectors. Should I use a splitter or would it be better to hardwire straight to the router?

I have never done this before and want to learn how to do it right. Thanks!

I'd hook,you up if you were closer. They do sell them in various lengths and might be easier if you never did it before.

I think its coax. How Doug you tell?

Coax is a center conductor with a shield surrounding it like your cable antenna uses.

Cat 5 or 6 has 4 twisted pairs that go into a computer style connector.
