Just got a rate quote for Florida insurance on a boat we were going to make an offer on. Agent said to plan on 2 to 3% premium on hull value depending on age of boat and 10% hurricane deductible. Eighteen months ago we were paying a little over 1% with 5% hurricane deductible. This is making us pause and rethink how much boat to buy, we were moving up in size to cruise and liveaboard for extended periods. Read another thread here about a sellers market and thinking these rates will have an impact on the boat market for boats moored in hurricane prone areas. Thought this was going to happen after this past hurricane season.

Just received my renewal from Atlas. Jumped from 3-5 grand. No damage from hurricanes, no claims.
