From what i hear the Japanese own a big portion of it now. They purchased it with Datsun , Honda and nikee american dollars.
Did not have to fire a shot.
The US Navy sure learned one thing not to group all your ships close together i thought. Till i went up the James river and saw all those ships tied side by side.
I know they are pickled but i understood they could be put in service if necessary. You think you got a big boat ride around those monsters if you have never seen them

Tim,
Been there several times, once by flying around it in a friends twin engine Skymaster pretending we were strafing them with machine gun fire.
It is a creepy, lonely place! I think the Navy has been slowly scrapping them.
