Onan 20
MDL4 / L423D-M engine.
Per previous owner it was running fine, then ran poorly, then sold boat as-is, Febuary 2017.
New starter and Stanadyne injector pump, DeAngelo custom riser already on gen-set.
Head was removed and blown head gasket & loose injector was found last week.
New owner will order a new gen-set after the coming boat shows.
Owner prefers a newer, lighter, smaller gen-set. Has an other gen-set running the ship.
My shop is full of old projects already. I have no room for another dust collector.
This is a rebuildable system.
In pulling this gen-set, it has to comes out in pieces.
Sheet metal and small parts already in my van this past weekend.
Offers for parts or whole assembly welcome.
If you pull the block and electric end your self, your offer would be greatly reduced for your labor.

Is the starter and alternator a 12V, 24V or 32V system?

It was connected to the ships 24v gen-set battery system. The only point I have is the starter solenoid is stamped 12v.
I do believe the previous work was preformed by dumb shits. I wish I could have a better answer.
When We attempted to start the gen-set, the starter worked well. There is not a voltage stamp on the injector pump.
Thank you for looking.

Short block and electric end assembly still on board. Scheduled out front hatch in 3-4 weeks.
All else already in scrap pile.

Do you recall how many hours were on the unit before the head gasket blew?
