    Inverter Bank Enclosure

Our 43DC has eight six volt batteries in a painted plywood box between our transmissions from a previous owner. Our surveyor said it needs to be water tight. I'm not finding a 8 battery marine battery box. 4 twin 6v boxes are doable, but kinda bulky. Can anyone share their thoughts on a proper inverter bank enclosure? I will be replacing the batteries and cables at the same time. Regards Craig

Craig, an old friend of mine bought a plastic holding tank from WM and cut the top off. He made a frame for the top to fit back on. Very clean and custom. Cheap too. You can order any size you need to fit that space.

What size are the batteries? You might be able to do two boxes using something like these from Dyno:

Very interesting, I hadn't considered L16 batteries, four would provide 1480 AH vs 1856 for the eight shorty 6v we run now. Available in sets (4) for $1700 plus shipping if one were to go that route. I'll take some measurements to see if they will fit, I have to lay on our box when changing impellers. Thanks, Craig
