Recessed lights in main salon 1972 43' DC

Two of the four ceiling lights in the main salon have blown bulbs. Replacement bulbs are $60+. Wanting to convert to LED or something without a big price tag when they blow. Any thoughts? This is a 110v light - correct? - not a 12v? Very odd tube bulb with fittings on the end.

in my 1979 43' DC the recessed lights in the salon are 12 volt.. there are two (not recessed) adjustable lights, one over the dinette and one over the galley that are 120 volts (ask me how I know that)

Ok - I'll bite .. how do you know that?

I am quite sure the recessed lights are 110v b/c of the size (gauge) of the wire.

I am in the process of ordering led and power blocks .. to convert 110v to 12v

FWIW, I just wired in a new light over where the lower dinette table was. I used an led fixture and had to use a new dimmer. The wall switch box had both DC and AC switches. The wire guage is identical. The color schemes are different, but put a volt meter on it brother.. don't guess based on perceived wire guage.

I screwed a 12 volt into a 120 hole. It exploded in my hand.

I recognize that fixture, available at Home Depot in 3 different sizes, LED and extremely bright, we have 4 of them in the boat now, one of the better things sold at Home Depot. John

It is indeed from the Home Despot.. the 13 inch size. Note, you'll need a C-L Dimmer.
