Need Hull and Engine Surveyor in Ft Lauderdale area.

I asked that myself. The bottom peal was done about 15 years ago. There was some water intrusion into the core and all affected material was replaced and the entire bottom relaminated. If we find similar during the survey, price adjustment will be made or the deal cancelled.

My biggest concern at the moment is financing. Spoke to 'the man' just a while ago and this is what he said:

Most boat loan companies limit themselves to 20 year old boats or newer. There are 3 banks that go to 25 and only 1 that goes to 30. This boat is 30. Much as I'd like to own her, no finance = no boat.

Correction - the bad coring was around a leaking port opening, not the bottom. The bottom peel was a correction for blisters.

Jack Dibelle did my engine survey [CATS 3406, Northern Lights 20, 12 kw gens.] I'd use him again. Mark Slakoff did my hull and vessel survey; thought they did a good job and were quite helpful while on board, but thought the report was kinda light as there were no photos; first survey that I've had with no photos. Otherwise, no qualms.

I like the 63's but most I see are 12-71's. best thing about them to me is the nice stairway to the flybridge, something I think Hatteras really missed. I surveyed one here in San Diego with a great enclosed aft deck, but no stabilizers, beautiful boat , massive owners cabin. Congrats I am sure you will enjoy it. John

Sad phone call this morning.

Based on comments here. Called Mark Slakoff. Due to schedule conflict, Mark was going to send his partner, Bill Bartosch.

Spoke to Bill 2 days ago and had a great conversation on Vikings and Hatteras. I knew I hired the right guy for next weeks survey.

Got a call this morning from Mark. Bill died suddenly from a heart attack yesterday.

Losing good resources for the forum members is always sad. When it's a person it's worse.

Other than the hull coring issues I would have the surveyor check the stringers very closely as there were some problems with broken stringers on these Vikings.
Slakoff is the best if you're buying, you don't want him there if you're selling.
