Sometime leaving a soaking wet mop on a stain softens it....or use your choice of the above cleaning solutions and let the cleaner soak for while by placing a soaked wet mop on top.

Spray Nine or SoftScrub/with Bleach, prolly have to rewax anywhere you use the softscrub. Spray Nice best for transome soot by the way for all the detroit smokers.

I have had good luck with Interlux'es Stain Remover, which is a gel that you let sit on there for a while, and then wash off. Rewaxing will be needed. It will also get rust stains off and not damage the paint.

Suggest you do not use soft scrub. The abrasive is too harsh for boats.
It will remove stain, but allows subsequent dirt to accumulate faster in the scuffed area.
