Re: Onan MDKD Fuse Location
First, it's "too" technical, and if you had taken the time to read my post, you would see that I was only there for a brief visit before returning home a few hours later. How would your hemorrhoid mirror help with this, and why did you capitalize the b in bag? Must be a really BIG bag.

Re: Onan MDKD Fuse Location
Thanks, Dave. Any guesses on what may have caused that fuse to blow?
I would think it has to be a blown fuse that's causing the thing not to even click. Seeing it is one thing (now that he knows where to look), but getting to it is another. Looks to me like you would have to unbolt the top of the sound shield to be able to access it at all. Even then, we're talking less than a foot of clearance at the top, and less than that at the front where the starter is. I guess it can be done just by feel, but what a pain in the butt.Randy Register - Kingston, TN

Re: Onan MDKD Fuse Location
Common if cranked a little too long.

Re: Onan MDKD Fuse Location
Based on my experience, that would not be the case. It always fired up immediately and did so the previous days he ran the boat. Would that not happen while the generator was being started?
Still have to wonder why they placed the fuse at that spot vs up around where the start/stop switch is.Randy Register - Kingston, TN

Re: Onan MDKD Fuse Location
Why do you ask for help on a issue only to say that solution is wrong? Do you just like to read your posts?

Re: Onan MDKD Fuse Location
Where did I say the solution was wrong?
I asked where the fuse was, you and others told me. I asked why it could fail, you told me it could be from cranking too long. I simply stated the generator had no history of being hard to start. There was nothing "wrong" with your solution, but I just assume there can be more than one reason why that fuse might blow.Randy Register - Kingston, TN
