Gaston up in the batter box. Taking aim on the Bahamas ans SE

I seem to remember another Gaston back in the Jim Cantore weather channel days.when they actually talked about the weather instead of fat men in the woods.

Gaston is already a tropical storm and expected to be a hurricane by tomorrow.

Thankfully it's not heading our way in the SE. The last Hurricane Gaston is 2004 was way too much rain.

I'm finding the usual hurricane sites a bit confusing this year. Fiona (now dead), 99L, Gaston, 06L and predictive data is kind of sparse. I've been trying to get an estimate of what the storm will bring to SE Florida. Anyone have a link?

That's not Gaston. That's Invest 99L. Gaston is going to head out to the middle of the Atlantic and bother no one. It's 99L that we need to watch.

Here is one site where you can see them all and click on any single storm to see the details: https://www.wunderground.com/hurricane/

Gaston is not a concerned, I will recurve far out.

The one to watch is th tropical wave approaching the Carib. Hurricane hunters didn't find anything to call it a depression but that could change in a couple of days as it passes new Puerto Rico. Models show it turning more to NW and eventually recurving but the question is where... Could be too close for comfort especially as we r anchored off Staniel cay right now

Got this from Rsmith many years ago. Still one of the best sites out there.

Thanks Jack, and Angela. I use both of those sites but could not find wind speed forecasts for 99L this morning. Maybe because it is not yet much of a storm. As Pascal says, it will be the one to watch.

Spaghetti models is nice because it puts a lot of sources on one page, but you need to understand the data

For detailed analysis, daily, this guy's blog is probalby one of the best

Then when the NHC Strats issuing advisory, their "discussion" issued every 6 hours is a must read.
