    Generator gauges warm

I am prepping to paint my flybridge and I was pulling my generator gauges. I noticed that there is a resistor on the back of the gauges that is warm. The gens are shut down and the ignition key is off. Why is it warm when not running? Gens are Onan MDL4 20kw
    Thanks,

    Tony

    Re: Generator gauges warm

I would think the power for the gages would pass through the switch and be disconnected when the key is off. Did you check the wiring diagram?

    Re: Generator gauges warm

I did not yet check diagram. But thinking about it, you would not nessicarily have the mains running with gens on. There is no key for gens but you would think that power to gauges would run from the gen control switch or from some kind of relay in the gen control circuit.
    Thanks,

    Tony
