    Twin disk transmission 48 cockpit motor yacht 1995

    Hi, ii've been doing an oil change on my engines (Detroit 6v92TA) and the Detroit Twin Disk transmissions. My mechanic told me to put 2.5 gallons of 40 weight oil in. When I pumped the old oil out it was 5 gallons. The nameplate says 5.2 gallons capacity. The spigot for the pump out is at the bottom of the transmission so I would think it would pump most out. What quantities are other people putting in to these transmissions?

    For a member that is not an owner you have a lot of questions on 4 different boats.
