I too, have a problem with diesel fuel. Gasoline is now below $3 a gallon in NC and diesel is still $3.65 a gallon! I smell ripoff.

I thought diesel used to be .20 cheaper a gallon than glass ???

    Re: diesel fuel

It was. But we are getting into the heating season when it goes up- it's similar enough to HHO that it all comes out of the middle of the barrel, so diesel users are competing with users of HHO and it raises the price.

And, of course, the ripoff theory may be true as well. Unfortunately.

It's expensive to make ULSD. Cost a lot extra to make it to the satisfaction of the epa. It's also terrible for the pumps and injectors.

There's also much more oil in diesel fuel compared to gas. The refining cost is the same for a gallon of gas regardless of the price of the raw materials. As the material cost rises the refining cost is amortized in the price and gas gets cheaper than diesel. If oil was $30 a barrel diesel should be cheaper than gas.

So that begs the question...........do any of you supplement your fuel with additives? If so which ones?
