    DC Wiring Question

In preparing to install my new anchor light sentry and its dawn to dusk sensor, I ran into what I think is and easy question. However, before going forwardI thought I would check here. The main part of the on/off/automatic switch with the idiot light has 5 wires going to it. Two wires are positive and negative, two wires go to the photo sensor and a fifth wire goes to the hot side of the load- here- the lights. Here is the question. The wiring diagram also says that the lights need a ground. Makes sense but the ground does not come from the switch. Assuming the switch is just breaking the hot side, which is what it appears to do, is there any reason why I can't jump the ground from the same ground feeding the switch and run that as the ground to the lights? Seems like it makes sense to me. Any thoughts?

    Re: DC Wiring Question

Simple switches do not have a ground. Relays or solenoids do.

    Re: DC Wiring Question

Here is a simple wiring diagram to wire your D2D controller. You would use the same ground and +DC wires that the circuit is using now. Hope this helps.
