WHere did you see that? Is that actual performance and is that with the optional 750gls of fuel? Only specs I've seen are the estimated performance specs that are also posted in this thread. That spec sheet seems nearly identical to the original 70C which would give you around 360NM range at 28kt burning 150gph. That's with the 1800hp 16V2000s and the same 2000gls of fuel. Hatteras typically offers more fuel and extended range but I guess that's hard to do with engines this big and this thirsty. Keep in mind these engines are massive. They're about 2200ci and nearly 9K lbs. My neighbor has the 2435hp version of them in his 90ft Pershing and his fuel burn is similar with the posted spec sheet. He carries 2500gls and says he needs to stop for fuel about every 300-350NM. He does like to run the boat at a fast cruise and sometimes on the pins for extended periods.

The figures I posted are from the latest dealer app given to dealers by Hatteras. Standard fuel is 2000gals but they offer an optional additional 785gals. According to their info:
    2450rpm - 40/42kts - 312nm range
    2200rpm - 35/37kts - 366nm range
    2000rpm - 32-34kts - 414nm range
    1800rpm - 28/30kts - 421nm range
    1600rpm - 21-23kts - 447nm range
I believe these ranges are computed based on the standard fuel capacity.

All of these new GT models are fast and the hulls all resin infused.

I wonder what range I get at 21kts

Those have to be with the additional fuel. Those engines are very thirsty and will burn about 200gph at 2000rpms. If you do the math the range is about right for 2785gls. I get 423nm range based on 32kts @2000rpm burning 200gph. Total fuel burn would be 2645gls for 13.225hrs. That would be with 5% reserve of the total 2785gls. I still think the performance should be a bit better. The original 70C with 1800hp 16V2000s runs about the same as the new 70GT with 1900hp Cat C32 Acerts. Given the Cats have 100hp more and weigh about 3 tons less than the MTUS plus the high tech construction of the new GT series, it doesn't seem to be all that fast. I thought all the GTs are supposed to run 40kts or better. The new 70GT does it but it requires a pricey engine upgrade. No idea what the price is but the new Viking 92c has the same engine options as the 70GT and the 16v2000 engine option is about 750K

I get about 425NM. I think those numbers are wrong. She should run a bit faster at 1600rpms. I Don't think a 200 rpm increase in engine speed will net 7-8kt increase in speed.

Actually fuel burn at 2000rpm is reported at 162gph, 200gph gets you 2200rpm. So those numbers would indicate the standard fuel capacity for range projections. You are aware the 70GT has a 21ft4in beam where I believe the older 70 only had 18 beam. The standard CAT power shows top speed of 37kts. Pretty sure all the GTs require the upgraded engine packages for the 40 kt speed.

Did everyone miss the fact that the burn rates don't go below 22 kts? I wonder what she even planes at. Is it like some center consoles that fall off plane at 18? Running to fish at slower speeds should extend the range but how much is the question.

Also why not list the slower rated too. Trolling is a big part of fishing.

Good point on the wider beam of the new boat. I completely overlooked that. Those fuel burn numbers don't make sense based on other real world specs. The 70C with 1800HP 16V2000s burns 150gph @ 2000rpm and just shy of 200gph WOT of 2300rpms. My neighbors Pershing with the 2435hp versions burns around 200gph @2000rpms. I will say that if she runs 37kts with the C32 Cats that's impressive and would make the MTUS option less attractive. The 60GT runs about 42kts with the C32s and is much smaller than the 70GT. Bottom line is I don't have to worry too much about any of this since I won't be buying any of these boats in the foreseeable future.

I agree, the upgrade cost to go to the MTU upgrade is significant. You have to really want that additional 4-5kts of speed. The cruise fuel burn numbers on both engine packages are about the same in the 30-32kt cruise although you would be running a bit lower rpm on the MTU. One of these is not in my future either but they are fun to look at.
