Dropped the rudders today. There is about .025" undercut at the styffing box area. Has anyone ever had a bronze rudder shaft built up and re-machined? Thanks, John

Re: rudder repair
Thanks, I went to Stuart Prop today. Looks like we we do a set of S.S. rudders. They are doing my shafts and they can use the ends of the bars for the rudder shafts to save some$$$. Now I have to get this old body down to change the rudder ports!!!!

Re: rudder repair
Does that mean that they couldn't rebuild your old rudder shafts by welding & remachining?
I may have the same problem with my shafts.

PS 11/14 Kathy - Never mind! I got mine out today and they're completely OK.Last edited by Nonchalant1; 11-12-2005 at 09:40 PM.
