    Seachest Thru-hull

    Hi All,

Has anyone ever replaced a seachest bootstripe thru-hull and if so what's the best way to go about it ?

    Re: Seachest Thru-hull

    Hi All,

Anybody ever do this? You know it's the large cone shaped thru-hull at the waterline, opening faces aft. One on each side of bow.

Do you cut a hole in the chest from the inside or do you remove the entire chest and re-glass it in afterwards ? ? Can't imagine it can be done from the outside

FWIW, On our 1969 53' MY, Hatteras bored a 2' hole in the side of the hull and glassed a seachest on the other side. The hole is covered with a chrome scoop facing aft.
