Im working on a 1964 hatteras sedan 34 foot. privious owner did a lot of crative things to this poor boat.
I've came to the gas tanks,to may surprise it had severa siphone vales in the fuel lines. Is this common on these boats.

Re: gas tanks
As far as I know, gas boats should have had one anti-siphon valve at each tank.

Re: gas tanks
Our gas Hatteras has a check valve in each of the three fuel lines, port and staroard engines, and gen set. These are spring loaded balls inside a brass fitting. The Coast Guard requires a device, (either vacuum breaker or check valve), on all inboard gas engined boats. This is to prevent a broken fuel line in the bilge from siphoning the contents of the fuel tank into the bilge. Good idea eh?
