I heard some radio traffic on 16 about a boat on the rocks. someone was on scene and talking to Sector Baltimore, but was still out in the Delaware so only heard part of the conversation, not the guy reporting the accident.
apparently there was 4 POB and one was injured.
I figured it would be a small boat, turns out to be a sportfish... I took these pictures tonight, looks like a Hatt, named Reel Deal out of Baltimore. (not showing up in the USCG database).
can't figure this one out, it happened on the elk river, a few miles south of the CD canal, at Pt Courthouse, about 1/3 mile from the main channel. Even a steering failure would give plenty of time to slow down before the shoreline.
there was a strong diesel smell in the area...
sad sight.

That gave me a fright, first Pure Vida then Reel Deal, I thought I might be cursed like Sparky is to engines...lol.. because I looked at another boat called 'Reel Trouble'. Whoa, that was close.
I hope everyone involved is safe and at home now. Boats can be bought and sold or sunk and scrapped but life has only one way to go.

Re: Sportfish on the rocks, Ches.
WOW, I hope they are OK, that looks like it was moving at quite some speed to run that high up the bank...

Re: Sportfish on the rocks, Ches.
SOLD! Well, it is now, anyway.
How in the world does one plow up onto the shore that high?

Re: Sportfish on the rocks, Ches.
Yep - definitely a Bert - the step in the side-deck is one of their "trademark" hull appearance things.
