    1969 8V53"s

    I am wondering if anyone can tell me where to find used parts for the old 8V53's I am looking for a heat exchanger specifically, but who knows what else I might need. I am on the west coast but if the price is right I can pay shipping.

    Someone on the leftist coast had a lot of old detroit parts for sale including manifolds and he. I don't remember because im too fad away but if you search the net they will probably show up. I think it was an older gentleman who was in the business for 40the or so years.

    Last year I purchased a new HE core for one of my 8v53's. They're out there new. You may try boatdiesel.com or Boats and Harbors for used stuff.

    $1,375. + $35. freight. It was included in an invoice for a complete cooling system overhaul on both engines that included all new hoses. Total bill was just over $6,000.
