Pi x R squared * length will give you Cu inches

Re: tank size
And about 230 CU to a gallon would get you about 260 gal or so.

Re: tank size
thanks guys, i will probably take it, so i can transport fuel to my boat from the fuel co. i will save about 12 cents per gallon from the commercial dock and about 25cents from tha marina. the fuel co. doesn't want to deliver to a residence or for just one boat.

Re: tank size
FYI diesel is about 7.5Lbs per gallon. Thats about a ton with the tank.

Re: tank size
We used to do this all of the time in the 1980's. We had a 300gal tank mounted to a steel skid. I put it on a 3/4tn pick up and it was about all that it could handle. I then put a 12v pump on the tank with about 75ft of fuel hose and a farm nozzle. It worked fine, but you'll need to bolt the tank down. If you were to loose that thing going down the road, it wouldn't be pretty, not just the mess, but the potential cost to clean it up could be huge. Also, be aware that fueling over the water has risks as well. We usually take those on everytime some marina hands us the nozzle, so that probably isn't as much of issue but the marinas do have the proper permits to fuel where we do not. Bottom line: Be Careful.
