24ft fishing boat refueled, pulled away from gas dock, exploded, two fishermen 2cnd degree burns, jumped into river, boat burned to waterline. Both guys are alright. cause was a leaking refueling line.

Ethanol will soften fuel lines. This is not going to be an isolated incident as older boats have ethanol in the systems.
At least the people will be OK.Scott

Damn.
Sunday, I was out with my son in our little jetboat. (14' inboard jetdrive)
For no particular reason, I lifted the engine cover just to check as we idled out to the river. I was shocked to see a pool of raw gas in the bilge and a rapid drip coming from a fuel line.
Maybe ethanol damage, don't know but it was a slow scary ride back to the dock.
That pic reminds me how lucky we were or how bad it could have been.

Fuel hose should be SAE J1527 alcohol resistant.
