A comparable new Victron with warranty is about $1100 for comparison.

Re: DAKAR SINE WAVE COMBI 12/2500-100 117Vac INVERTER/CHARGER COMBINATION
There are not many Dakar inverters in the states.
There is a reason that it weighs 82 pounds.
For those that understand this, thank you.

(Goodness, Ralph. Might want to dial back on the coffee :-)
Appears to be a high-quality product that you have listed, and if I may suggest it place "Mastervolt" in the title which is a brand that I used and greatly respect.
Amusingly, both Mastervolt and Victron HQs are in Amsterdam and only about 11 miles apart. I bet their engineers cross-pollenate good design work!
I think one point Sky is making is yours are about half the cost of a new comparable Victron, or at least that's how I interpreted it.
Can't go wrong with either brand, and someone may grab these at a great price (I just paid much more for a 4KW Magnum since I am partial to the design folks in the Pacific Northwest.)

Re: DAKAR SINE WAVE COMBI 12/2500-100 117Vac INVERTER/CHARGER COMBINATION
Two years ago I installed on ours a Magnum MS 24/4000 PAE.
Sweet.
I'll update more on the mfg title.
Thank you for your thoughts.
In dealing with my Victron rep years ago, he did work at masterVolt for a while. Near on the other side of the hood.
Re: DAKAR SINE WAVE COMBI 12/2500-100 117Vac INVERTER/CHARGER COMBINATION
I never made any suggestions or recommendations. I simply posted a similar unit for comparison. But, since you have attacked my contribution yet again, I'll tell you what I really think:
I think the reason they weigh 82lbs is because they are not in production anymore. The new Mastervolt stuff is all smaller and lighter(similar unit 33.7lbs). Those units you have listed are one or two iterations old; the new stuff has the gray/green case. And I'm not sure the weight has anything to do with the performance or longevity.
If it was an anchor, I'd say the weight would probably be important.
But this does not mean that these are not still good units. What it means is that any potential buyer must decide what they are worth in comparison to buying new. For some, warranty is important. Others are more willing to take a risk if the price is right. I see you have them posted on ebay and craigslist too. Good luck with the sale. RV guys like these units too, so your market is more than just boaters.

Boys, boys, remember we are all friends here.
Both of you have made invaluable contributions to the forum, which I value.

The reason for the later and lighter models is nobody wants to handle the weight of a real transformer.
There is a sacrifice when synthetically making a sine wave without a real transformer to install that beautiful smooth wave in it's output.
Later inverters use rows of timed transistors in cycle to make a sinusoidal wave. Still a full wave but a sawtooth line when viewed on an O scope.
These later (lighter) inverters are better than the starter square wave inverters but are still lacking on that pretty wave and exact 60Htz.
Years ago, before the industry got into " It Just Works" mode, MasterVolt and others made these real sine wave inverters. And yes, they were heavy.
Sadly, not many Dakars made it to the states.
If and when a consumer really wants a real and smooth sine wave, artificially produced from a battery, These ole units are sought after.
Our later Magnam inverter was purchased because of it's options but on an O scope, still produces that saw tooth wave. It does just work for our needs running computers and on board equipment. The remaining UPS units on board still errored on this newer but noisy signal and error out till their batteries die. As common with many later "Just Works" inverters.
These heavy weights make as pretty of a wave as from your house.
Oh, My house is 59.9 Htz, while testing, these Dakars were solid 60Htz.
Quality does still cost some money, unfortunately is weighs more.
Comparing one of these ole Dakars with a later Victron is like comparing a fine ole Rolls with a Mini cooper. Yea, both will get you down the road.
Re: DAKAR SINE WAVE COMBI 12/2500-100 117Vac INVERTER/CHARGER COMBINATION
Okay. I'm sure there is someone that will buy it that is of like mind; someone that wants that perfect sine wave. Personally, I like the lighter and smaller unit as long as it works(and lasts) and integrates well.
It sounds like for your personal application, you are good with the newer stuff as well. Like I said, good luck with the sale.
