53MY Boarding Ladder Line Rigging Length?

Some of you here know that "Hatts-Off" and I recently acquired the '78 53MY "Chartmaker".

Anyone know what the proper line length is for the folding boarding ladder rigging? I am re-conditioning the fiddles too- they were pretty corroded.

The ladder itself is pretty pitted with salty surface corrosion. Any recommendations from the "been there done that" crowd on how to clean it up?

If you happen to have an interesting modification to the ladder we'd like to hear about it.
