SR2 Converted to Office / Library / Guest Room
Well, in October of 2005 I started this project....the existing 2 bunks in the second stateroom were in bad shape so I removed them and had a new bunk built on the left side of room (as you walk in). It still has water tank underneath so I had bunk built a little higher than original to accomodate 4 drawers. I removed the night stand completely that was btwn 2 original bunks and did not replace. on right side of room (Port Side of Boat) I had a pretty cool custom desk built with birdseye maple inlays, surrounded by ebony and then mahogohny trim. Put up shelves with removable book holders and a new wood cieling (again maple and mahoghany)....well, I've been polyurethaning for the better part of the last 3 months and getting upholstry done for daybed / couch and here is the result!! I'm about 99% there..just need to wire up computer (printer will go in storage closet to right of desk) and I'm there! Thought you guys would appreciate!

Beautiful!! I hope the admiral does not see this or she will once again start pushing me to go up to a 53 or 58.

Beautiful work! I particularly like the new overhead. I wonder how something like that would look in the salon of a convertible.
