There was a 55C I looked at briefly when it came on the market in 2012. Starting price was $200K. Ran across it again in 2014 listed at "$50,000 OBO." The 2012 ad stated owned by tug boat company owner and freshly majored 12V71s by in-house mechanic. The 2014 listing stated both motors had 50 hours and would run on a limited basis, but both had cracked rings.
One would tend to think buying a boat from folks in that business with their own mechanics would be a plus. That's sure what the ad seemed to imply. That was a good lesson I'm glad I didn't have to learn.
Motors turn on fine...doesn't mean that they actually start.
Buy it knowing that you'll be rebuilding/replacing...always plays on words worry. "Engines are rock solid" equates to "Engines are as useful as anchors."
