Totally sucks. At least everyone is ok.
We anchored up behind Reedy Island once. It's pretty well marked where the cut is and the jetty showed up great on the paper chart and OK on Navionics Gold. Another reason to carry both and check both.
Hello all, This boat just left may boat yard monday of last week after an extensive refit for the last 8 months . The owner is very conscious and a fabulous yachtsman that was very involved with the refit of his boat. He and his family were traveling to Minnesota for his new port and home. We have stayed in touch daily throughout his travels and when I got this call it was devastating to hear what had happened. They were searching for an anchorage after departing the C & D Canal due to bad weather. We are glad everyone is safe and hope for the best. The boat is being raised today and we are awaiting the results of the damage. The family is going to see if there is anything salvageable today. We wish them the best and a safe return home.
So where the heck is this submerged jetty....? Second boat to go on there in as many years....
Is it the thing labeled "Reedy Island Dike" ?

What a shame
I believe it happened further south, almost across from the nuclear plant
