I need to get both helm and ram rebuild (1970 hynautic H1001-001 and H21S)
I remember someone posting a link to a place that specializes in these, was up in the Midwest and relocated to Florida ) but can't find the post.

I've used Boat Steer that's now in Venice, FL twice, once under the previous owner and once with the new people, for a Teleflex power steering ram and a Teleflex outboard helm and ram. thought they did a good job. We tried to use somebody local to North Palm and both the price and service time were insane which is how we got to these folks..

When you get done post the new helm on an old post I started called show us your helm. Look forward to seeing your changes.
I’ve used southern charm in Florida. The ram came back like new http://boaterstore.com/contact.html
Thanks. Contacting them.
I rebuilt mine myself. Get the rebuild kit and it's not that hard. A key step is to wrap Scotch tape around the shaft to cover any keyways and sharp step at the end of the shaft before slipping the new lip seal onto the shaft. This avoids putting a small nick in the lip seal's razor edge.
There are things I don't mind doing but this isn't something I want to tackle.
Boatsteer cant handle the H1001 but Southern Charm can along with the H21 and the ram. He said it s usually $200/225 for the HElms. Turn around 4 to 5 days
