I will work on arranging my schedule so I can cruise up there. What day are your thinking?
I’m in 100%. Thanks Chuck and Lisa.
I’ve asked two more up here if their interested. I’ll get back to you when they reply. By the way we will have the two grandkids there.
We potentially have six takers then? Awesome. Admin web meister- may we get some sticky love on this thread for a month or so? Would appreciate it.Rusty... it’s looking like either Alamda, Richmond, or Sausalito. Will know more soon.Cheers!
I have a couple more I’m working on now. Sausolito is my preference, but anywhere will be great.
Most likely Reposado is in!
Rusty or Chuck, is Enamorada coming?
Also, anyone in touch with Juke Joint? Happy to tell them as well. And Buccaneer in Emeryille?
DAN
Jim or Doug: Sticky please...
I’ve asked. They said they will most like in the bay that week, so if the date is correct they will be there.
I am new to this site and don’t know if I am getting through. I have a 46 sport fisher. I want to participate, if the dates work. Please keep me in the loop. I am in Antioch.
Welcome, Ginger!
Whereabouts are you located? Any history on your boat?
DAN
Well, are we going to pull this off or not?
Good weather will be with us for a while, and I am still interested in some sort of get together, even if meeting for cocktails.
DAN
Sounds like fun.
Working on a quorum!
RonNP arrived in my Marina a day or so back, and there are now 3 local (Juke Joint, Wet Ever, Reposado) and Rusty is busy with Chuck setting up a SF Bay meetup.
Welcome Ron (even if temporarily)!
I am going to frequent Anh's more (bar from which all three boats are visible)!
DAN
One of our favorite spots. Count us in.
Easy trip for me from Stockton so let me know. I've bought a bricks and sticks house in So Cal so I'll have to plan this one but I'm game!
We won't be able to get Benedetto there in time but Trina and I would still like to come by air. Does it make sense for us to try? Will we be able to get to any of the activities without a boat?

There is a road to the marina so for sure come on by! Closest airport would be Sacramento International. Its about a 40 minute south drive on the 5 Freeway
Hello NorCal Hatteras Roundup Folk;
Captain Chuck here with more on this as of this evening. The Grindstone Joes folks needs a boat count of course. The weekend they have open is Sept 25-26.
What they provided this afternoon is this:
"...we'll be sending you a contract asking for a $300 deposit to reserve the date and asking for a certificate of comprehensive general liability insurance with a limit of liability not less than $1,000,000 per each occurrence and name Grindstone Joe’s as an additional insured during the term."
I need to find out if this is PER yacht. I'm prepared to front the $300 to reserve that date for us. You'd have plenty of time to contact your insurance providers to accommodate the additionally insured rider request.
Can I get some volunteers to organize and put forward program suggestions for each day? Is this a strictly social event or do you all want some content? We all are an expert at one aspect or another with respect to preserving the Hatteras history and our vessels.
Here's a snippit from the OpenCPN chart:

This is a great trip into the Delta River System which is comprised of the Sacramento and the San Joaquin Rivers.
I propose getting there Friday afternoon, and perhaps planning to leave Monday.
Rusty has a line on a Bar-B-Que caterer for one evening. There's also fabulous cooking facilities there for us to put on an informal al Fresco Pot-Luck Dinner with great grills.
Read all about our get together rendezvous location here: https://grindstonejoe.org/.
Coordinates are 38°6'7"N 121°29'22"W. It is a tidally restricted entrance so some planning is advised.

If you're ready to commit to the event please drop me an email: chuckbullett@gmail.com.
I'll put a cruising and activity package together. Rusty and I are really pumped about pulling all of us together. Looking forward to see you.
Chuck and Lisa Bullett
Hi Guys- Love to have you. The location is remote and rustic... it is not one of the lovely FTL Marinas that my wife and I go "boat shopping" in whenever we're there visiting her family. I suggest that if you do come be prepared for an adventure. The nearest town is Lodi and Woodbridge. Coming into the Sacramento Airport is your best bet I think. SFO and Oakland are also options, but then its about a two hour drive to get to the location.
We're working on a possible limited program. Anything you'd be interested in presenting or hearing about?
Thank You

Hey guys,
I am definitely in. The only question is how much COVID dirt I can get off of REPOSADO by September, but if necessary I will drive or ride-along.
Chuck: it would be great to catch up! Not sure about Ahn's yet, but maybe. The three Hatts mentioned included WetEver but Ron had to move to Stockton (probably restraining order reasons :-)
Jeff says that there is a 46' on F Dock so may be another owner in the mix as well. Rusty is the very best at meeting people, and he must be in touch with the other SFBay folks in Sausalito, Redwood City, Emeryville, Berkeley, etc.
I have not been checking in here much, so texts work pretty well.

Is there a hotel to stay in that is close by? John
https://winerose.com/
You will get some brownie points from the wife for staying here. It is about 13 miles from the marina. This is where the Hollywood crowd comes to get away from it all
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith were recent guests at the hotel.
Thanks Ron, to expensive, I just bought another boat. Thanks Rusty, that would be great.
We’ve got extra crew with us so the bunks are taken on Chartmaker. I’ll ask the hosts if there’s a motel nearby that they would recommend,
HOTEL/MOTEL Information-
There is small place called Yogi bear Cabins at Tower Park, walking/biking distance to Grind Stone Joe's, otherwise near Lodi has a Best Western and a few others. Book early!
The 60-Day Count Down has Started to the NORCAL Roundup!
I was at Grind Stone Joes to have dinner with the hosts there this evening and we were working out our docking details and procedures for the roundup. I'll be sending out photos and drawings on what the drill will be.
Basically we'll be side-tieing to the docks with the House Boats Opposite the dock. We'll have room for perhaps 6-7 Hatterai, then well have to start rafting out. Only two boats per raft. We'll have to be understanding when our friends need to dance across our foredeck to access their boat if they're rafted to us next door. Be mindful if you have boarding ladders like I do... I'll insure that I dock port-side-to (where my Marquipt Ladder is)... exposing my clean starboard side toward the channel and available for someone to raft next to Chartmaker.
GSJ's generally does not host vessels as large as ours, but this plan will work. The Good news? They have plenty of 50A power hookups.
Still looking for help to plan some events for everyone and insure that you bring tablecloths and dinner place settings for the community dining area where we'll gather. It is the culture of GSJ's that , that's just what you do! One of our SF Yacht Clubs, Saint Francis, has a similar tradition at Tinsley Island, their resort island summer playground that is nearby.
Looking Forward! The last weekend in September.

On the approach insure that you watch out for shoaling on the southern approach, I intend to come in via the Tower Part approach from the north:

Lisa and I will be arriving earlier on Friday to assist everyone on getting in on Saturday- Additionally, Grind Stone Joe's full time hosts, Patrick and Sharon Hind-Smith will be there to assisting in docking, answering questions, offering directions, and more. It will be a great place to get your dingy wet for the weekend as you explore the area.
Lets go exploring in the Delta!
Looking forward-
Chuck and Lisa Bullett
All;
This Delta Variant has everyone right on the edge of their seats.
If you're coming to the NORCAL Roundup, please be prepared to display your vax certificate to the host at Grind Stone Joes. Patrick Hind Smith is our host, and states that the GSJ board is requiring him to certify all guests and visitors to the island resort.
I hate this stuff, but it just has to be.
Thank You
