I got the exhaust risers installed over the weekend. That's a major item to cross off the honey-do list. Booyah.

Nice. If we get some decent weather when I am not working, I may come down and get in the way and so on.
By the time Q gets finished...it will be time to start over! Looks nice Q.
Exhaust looks great so how many $$$ did you save doing it yourself I know what you learn was priceless
Was it much more work to wrap with the fiberglass just wondering how it will look in a few years?
Thanks guys!
Dan, the materials were ~$1,250. The TIG welder, gloves, metalcutting bandsaw, and plasma cutter were ~$1,000. The quotes I got from a couple of marine exhaust manufacturers were $5k and up.
A commenter elsewhere said he's used Inferno Wrap for the last decade, and it still looks great. If I decided to put a hard shell on it, I'd use 1" Inferno Wrap rather than fiberglass. The wrap is very flexible, but 'glass just doesn't lay down nicely going around those tight mandrel bends.
After a bit of a rant about stupid EPA regulations that make kerosene jerry can spouts spill more fuel than old-style straight tube spouts, I got busy stripping paint from the forward bulkhead. Then I cut a beautiful African mahogany panel that I'll eventually bond to the bulkhead.

That will look sweet when done!!!
Now those Fing nozzles  total junk people spill more than ever before but I guess its stupid so it goes well with E10 & E85 ;)
When my old ones break I am going to make my own nozzles lucky for me I still have 7 old cans
Somebody just sent me an email with this as the message:

Thank You for EZ Pour link, just ordered one. Filling the snowblower yesterday was just another example of why I voted Trump.
