Trying to decide Fri or Sat
Nobody going?
I wanted to go, but work popped up.
We (yacht Jim and I) are here. Never set foot on a boat today, and only made it half way through all of the vendor booths. Happy to find nearly all of the vendor stuff is in air conditioned comfort. We are going again tomorrow to finish up.
I am going today. Be there all day
I'm tied up with other stuff this weekend. Sorry I'm missing it. I delivered PIZZAZ (my 41 Chris Commander) to a new owner back in August, and bought a land dwelling...(the cheapest decent condo in all of South Florida). I'm 10 minutes from the marina and missing it terribly. ...at least for now.
Friends who've been there tell me it's mobbed like they've never seen before. Great Weather...but Dress in Cottons. Temps are in the middle and upper 80s.
It's DEAD!!!! For a Sat hardly anyone here. All the sales people lookalike hungry vultures
I'm here! If you see a guy with an Endless Summer shirt with my antique 50 Hatt on the back that would be me. Say Hi I don't bite.
Steve owner of SAMs was maning the t shirt booth at the Hatt display. Said he had not seen any Hof'rs at the show. I all the years I've been going especially for a sat it was dead. I just am amazed at the # of megayachts. I remember in the 70's when Malcom Forbes 88' Highlander was the biggest boat in Lauderdale.
Perhaps like you, I am in some ways living in the wrong century. I haven't made it to the Ft Lauderdale show in about 5 years. Does the Hatteras display still have the lunch buffet set up around in the back, only for those who know about it? That was always very nice.
