Walker specifically states that we should not use anything but their brand of oil to treat their filters. Frankly it looks a lot like tranni fluid or Marvel Mystery oil to me. And I think I understand the concept pretty well. What do you guys use?

I believe it's made for them by k&m.
Bob.....
Asked on another thread. You posted about doing an H/E flush using barnacle buster leaving the pump runningfor 3 hours. What type of pump do you use?
As I recall, you have 6v92 engines. Where did you connect the cleaning solution input?
Thanks.
Bugsy
The oil is a very thin based oil meant for the K&N filters. Hint, don't put much on. If you put it on heavy to get that real red or blue color you'll find a pole of oil on the floor an hour later.
k&n sells their oil in a spray bottle
I tried mystery oil once and it made a mess. I now stick to the K&N. I use the spray can. It goes on a little hit and miss but evens out as it wicks in.
after a lot of cleanings i find the filter looses some of its form when underway. The massive amount of air will fold over the ribs of the filter slowing down air flow, ultimately causing a hase of black smoke.
I have used the kn clean and oil kit and it works well. I tried just washing out with dawn first, let dry and it looked ok. Then I redid with the kn oil cleaner and it got out a whole lot more gunk. That's the stuff the use, and it's really not expensive.
