  2. Chartering Rules

So not to pick on any one member, I thought maybe those in the know could go over those rules again regarding the Chartering of One's vessel. From what I gather, this needs to be done properly so as not to get into real trouble. I don't charter nor do I have any need or desire to do so, but I...

Hi All, Awesome form! A vast amount of knowledge that has proven valuable in my recent purchase! I am a newbie here. I just purchased a 1981 48’ MY. The short version is I have been looking for a looper boat that I can live/cruise on in the winter after we do the loop. I saw the Hat and...

  5. HattaRetirement

That might just be the name I’ll finally put on the blank transom of my 41DC, but I thought I would pick the HOF brain trust on this one. I guess I’m officially an old fart having turned 62 last Saturday, and I made my first trip to the Social Security office this morning. I was hoping a face...

  7. Beach party in Bimini Bahamas 2of2

Staying in Bimini was a blast. We ended up relaxing with some friends and ended up at a beach party. The Hatteras doesn't seem great for making this crossing though. The trip home was nice and pretty smooth overall but the first trip over and back was crappy. This girl rolls like there's no coming...

As many of you know, we have been chartering the MASTERPLAN to make a little extra money. Here's a short video of a HARD DAY'S WORK. Enjoy. https://youtu.be/6Ena9oKlvHU

  9. Text wrap

Some where along the way I lost the ability to have the text wrap to the next line and I can't figure it out. I'm sure the answer is simple, but not for me! Help please.

  10. Finally Bringing Manchioneal Home

We are leaving in the morning for Little River, SC to finally bring our boat home to Colonial Beach, VA, shoving off Sunday. It's been a long time coming and we've had (and needed) much more work done to the boat than we anticipated. We've got a reservation at Seapath Yacht Club in Wrightsville...

  11. Do you live aboard? If so, I have 3 questions.

Do you live aboard? If so, I have 3 questions. 1. Are you primarily traveling or stationary? 2. How do you make a living and pay your bills? 3. Are you landlocked for any reason? This video is just a day OFF the boat. But it makes me wonder what I really want to be doing as a liveaboard. ...

  14. Sportfish RAMMING SPEED

Shotgun start tournaments get ugly from time to time but this is ridiculous! This was in Mexico a few days ago. Looks like the filming boat was the one to cut off boat 2 who was coming up hot. Stupid, wreckless none the less for two boats to get this close. ...

  15. Salon Furniture

When I spec'd out the salon furniture, I had the chase section made a little shorter than it should have been. Shame too because that where I like to read and my feet hung over the edge. I thought about getting a longer section made, but wifey suggested an alternative. Glastop made a matching...

  17. I think she is way underpowered.

This is just my opinion, but I think when the owner repowered her in 2010 and put 6 cylinders Cummins in with only 210 HP he greatly under powered her. I also wonder if they are as heavy as the Detroits he took out and what that did to the buoyancy of the boat. ...

  18. Lower helm visibility.

We're getting closer. Not quite there yet, but closer. As we surf YW we keep coming back to the Hatts. Major factor is, of course, layout, specifically galley up, galley down. Aside from the livability which is personal and an endless discussion I don't really want to start there's the following:...

This is on a 1981 43c. Is it normal to have a cleat bolts punched to the exterior Hull? Is this what I am seeing?

  20. Columbus Day Regatta at Elliott Key in Biscayne Bay, Who's going?

Some buddies and I are heading down to Miami or Miami Beach Thursday and then down to the party at Elliott Key on Friday. Anyone going? If yes, we could look out for each other and meet. I have not been in a number of years but there is no way I will forget the good times I have had there. ...
