  1. Hey Jasper nice pics

Jasper put up some pics of the boat down under. IMHO the 53c is one of the best looking boats Hatt ever made. The stern hause pipes look great. lets you run a spring to them without people tripping on it.

  2. Interlux Micron Extra - $$$???

Going to get green fingers this week. Painting the bottom for its annual "boat show" and trouble spots. Anyone have a good lead on Micron Extra (gallons) from a cheap source online? I'll probably buy from WM, b/c they price match and I have coupons to burn. Best I can do at the moment appears...

  3. Locking thru

Ive seen a lot of questions on here about transiting locks. The only locks that I've been thru are at Great Bridge and the South fork of the ST lucie river. The striker pilot was a friend of a friend. This is a good example how highly experienced people can screw up in a emergency. No boat ride or...

Planing my first trip to the Dry Tortuga's, looking to head over in late spring after spending a couple of day in Key West. I have been scouring many web sites (this one included) gathering up lots of good information. One questions I can not seem to find the answer to, is which approach to...

  6. Fuel Theft

With the price of diesel and gas going through the roof, do any of you feel the need to secure your fuel caps with locks? At $4.00 per gallon, I figure I have a small fortune in fuel aboard. It wouldn't take much for someone to pull aside, drop a tube and pump a few thousand dollars from her...

Deltaville and Glouster got hammered by a nasty tornado last night. Some reports say the tornado was on/off the ground for up to 12 miles. 3 dead, 1 missing and up to 60 injured. Countless homes, boats, businesses and autos damaged/destroyed. ...

  8. Question What do you guys consider "tight" confines for maneuvering?

What canal would be considered "tight" for handling a 50-60 foot MY or SF? 75 foot width? 100 foot width? What about backing down...how far can even an experienced captain put her in reverse before it gets dangerous? (By knocking into boat lifts, other boats, concrete seawall, etc.) Do you...
