  2. 1985 61 MY Prop Storage ideas...

1985 61 MY and currently my props are in the Generator room lying on the floor, taking up valuable maneuvering/access space. Looking for ideas for storage. I have read many threads on here with ideas, under master bed, etc... but i have not seen a viable option for my vessel. I thought of a...

  3. Lauderdale Marina Lunacy

Just a FYI regarding Lauderdale Marina at 17th Street Bridge. Pulled in for fuel and to let three guests off the boat and were greeted with this. Needless to say, we told them they could keep their fuel. Pulled up 200 yards and let them off at the Hilton dock.

  5. changing oil brands

Wondering if changing to synthetic oil would actually help the old DD and extend their life. But I wonder if I would be opening up a can of worms. No smoke on start up, but these are 12/71 and they are 34 years old. I started reading how synthetic cleans the inners of the motor, and started...

  6. I’ve Gone Over To The Dark Side

I’ve always loved big cats and am currently delivering a 56’ Lagoon. I’ve never delivered a sailbote before, but when I found out what it was, I signed up to move it from St Pete to Savanna. This forum is comprised of a number of sailors, so I figured this would be a good place to ask this...

  7. considering Kitchen remodel 43 Hat MY ?

Considering Kitchen remodel on a 1985 MY was wondering if other owners have done it and maybe learn from their experience. Everything currently works fine just thinking of the cosmetic updates. Thanks Fred

  10. Fresh water tank leaks

Anyone one have any experience dealing with water leaks in the fresh water tanks of a 54 Hatteras Sportfish Convertible. We’ve had this issue for several months where one of the tanks will mysteriously drain dry yet we don’t see the water in the bilge.

  14. A New (to me) 70 CMY ?

Gentlepersons ~ I've been a (15 + year) very happy owner of a 1983 48 MY, and am now looking at a 1990 70 CMY. Tell me, please, what are the idiosyncrasies of the 70 CMY that would make it markedly different from the 48. (As in, WFT would I be getting myself into that I wouldn't typically...

  15. Refrigerator replacement on 50 sport deck

I have seen a few boats that have had the original refrigerator replaced on a 52 or 50 ft. but I don't see an easy way to do it without taking the door and frame plus cutting part of the boat out. I would also be interested if anyone has taken the couch out? Thanks for any help.

  16. Progressive Insurance

I hope none of you have your boats insured with Progressive Insurance. They are a nite mare to deal with on a claim. Our experience is with a car accident but I am sure a boat claim would be just as bad. I have USAA but the person who hit us has Progressive. They claim they can’t get ahold of there...

  17. The things you can get from Sam’s

No this isn’t for my 53... it’s for the “office”. I was told it was left over Hatteras stock and originally used on the few 118s Hatteras built. It should hold the 116 Lazzara I run... its stock 196 pounders are useless. This is 396lbs unpolished SS Now... I haven’t figured out how we re going...

  18. Any one know how to find boats for over nite stays

We have had an unexpected trip come up to Ft Meyers 2/17-2/20 and we are looking for a boat as in sleep aboard rentals. I know they exist just coming up empty on the net. Within 100 miles would be fine. TIA:cool:
