  4. Sticky Thread Sticky: 2022 Nor/Cal HATTERAS Roundup Cruise out

We have secured the dates of September 26 through September 30 to cruise into the Delta Yacht Club on the San Joaquin river. This Yacht Club is one of the finest facilities in the Delta to cruise into. They only take other clubs cruise ins during the middle of the week so their own members can...

  1. Boat Security

Can anybody recommend a security system for a boat. I'd be interested in what some of the members are using and what works (or seems to anyway). Thanks,

  2. Happy 4th All!

Hope everyone is out on the water today and that the weather is great wherever you are. Also that your 4th is a safe one. Oh, and BTW, thanks to all American service men and women who fought over the years so that we as a free nation can have this day to celebrate. Enjoy!

  3. Hatteras owner missing for oner a week!

If you have been following Fox News or other media this past week you already know that a prominent couple in Hilton Head Island, John and Elizabeth Calvert, have been missing for over a week. Just this evening I learned that Elizabeth was the registered owner of their 1989 40’ Hatteras DCMY...

  5. About Our Nation's Energy Consumption

A couple of weeks ago I read where France derives 60-70% of it's electrical energy from nuclear power plants. So I did a little research with Dept. of Energy figures and was surprised at the findings (the latest data is from 2006): About 19.4% of our electricity is generated by nuclear power. ...

  6. Enough to make a grown man cry!

I first spotted her last February somewhere in upper South Carolina. Saw her again mid April and made these pics. Don't know the history behind her but possibly owner could have fell ill or whatever. Maybe she's tied up in an estate. Regardless, we all see this time to time. It's a shame...

  7. Can you guess who said this in 1998?

"Make no mistake, tax cheaters cheat us all, and the IRS should enforce our laws to the letter." (Sorry, no hint. A few of you really don't want to know who said that!)

  9. Has anybody used one of these?

It's a 12V air supply device and snorkle for "shallow" diving. Seems good for cleaning props, etc. (I used to be NAUI certified but got out of it long ago due to a bad ear. But this thing is tempting in that I would only be going down about 5'). Maybe there's something else out there at a...

  10. Downsizing Images

This Forum allows for images of no larger than some 97KBs. I have a few shots of my hull that were taken yesterday but saved then uploaded at much more resolution than 97KBs. Does anyone know of a method or program which I can use to resize (or lower) the file space (KBs) of these any other images?...

  11. PC Back-Up Sites - How Reliable??

It seems that there are quite a few web sites available now where you can store (ie. back-up) files, documents, etc. Hmmm, how convenient. But it sure raises the question of reliability. Has anyone herd anything good or bad about these sites? I suppose that our beloved Photobucket is ok for...

  14. Dexcool cocktail party last night!!

Complete with hang over and all to! This morning I had my 4th colonoscopy. No, I’m not in love, but it wasn’t bad at all. The worst part was having to drink 4 liters of “Caterpillar engine coolant” in about two hours. Well, yea. After coming dangerous close to running out of toilet paper last...

For perhaps a year now we have been toying around with the idea of buying one a big screen TV (so we can better watch some 300 odd channels of crap, if you now what I mean). And of course, I have been visiting the television sections each time I walk into Wal-Mart (where I buy all my latest...

  17. Not another boatinay...

We left Lightkeepers Marina last Sunday destined for our first winter-over in the Florida Keys. Just below the Little River swing bridge we passed a sailboat named "Senta". The first bad omen came about two miles down the waterway when we realized that we could not get up to speed as we had a...

  19. Garmin, not what What they used to be

It's a lot of fun, let me tell you. Last weekend I connected and turned on my Garmin 2010 Chartplotter (3 years old). A quick message said something like "...need to update, etc., etc." Then it would not acquire satelites. Really makes navigation a fun challenge if you know what I mean. ...
