  1. Early 41 Convertables

Does anyone have any info on the early (1961) 41C's? I am curious about the number of hulls that were produced, and lay-up method. I have read the info on the 34C's on the 34.org page. I assume (maybe not too smart) that the lay-up methods were the same. Any thoughts?

  2. A Vote for Plumber's Putty

Over the years I have used Plumber's Putty for quite a few applications. I find that unless you need the super-duper adhesive powers of 5200, and if you have enough fasteners to load up the object to be bedded, then its hard to beat good ole' Plumber's Putty as a bedding compound. It seems to...

I have a 1975 hatt. 53 MY. Each alternator has a separate voltage regulator mounted on the walls of each engine room just inside the forward engine room doors. I think one of them is caput and needs to be replaced. Does any of you know of a source I can buy these gadgets from? The DD engine...

  9. New toilet test

I tested my newly installed Raritan Atlantes toilets today. After flipping the dip switches so they would retain water in the bowl, two of the three seemed to work great. The two that worked were the fwd and the master (both hooked to the bow tank). The midship(guest) toilet has a problem...

  12. ONAN Raw Water Pump Will Not Prime

Today's frustration was the water pump on the ONAN 7.5. New impeller, new gasket, seacock open, manually primed with a hose and no water out the discharge side. No obstructions up or down stream. Belt properly tensioned. WTF  I took the whole pump home, poured a martini and hope...

  13. Engine mounts

The engine mounts on my 36c w/ 4-53t need replaced. The original mounts are the ones that are vertically aligned - the surveyor said that they sag over the years. The last owner had them welded solid, thus no vibration absorbtion. Is it possible to remove only one mount and have the other 3...

I read in PassageMaker about how the writer anchors with his all chain rode by using a "chain stopper" connected to nylon rope that connects to his two forward cleats making a bridle. 17. Unhappy How to remove mirrors 53MY/58YF

Our 1971 vintage mirrors in all three heads need replacing. I keep trying to remove them and they will not come out without a fight. Considered breaking them but that makes duplication very difficult. The obvious was to lift them up and angle them out of the tracks but that will not work. I know...

  20. O-ring sealed fuel pipes

A local DD dealer recommended the O-ring sealed fuel pipes to replace the flared tube design fuel pipes. Is this a DY project. Do you have to do a comlete engine tune-up after installing new pipes? Any other thoughts. Thank you in advance.
