  1. Rudders

While working on the boat in the yard, I noticed that the rudders require 2 full turns from center to STBD, and 3 full turns from center to PORT. 5 full turns total, lock to lock. I suspect this asymmetric ratio is normal?

  2. Fresh water float gauge

Hey Guys, Can anyone please give me some direction on my 2" diameter- 19.5" long float assembly... that uses the Rochchester gauge for my 1998 43 CNV. I cleaned with the CLR....my favorite cleaner and it just broke with the chemical reaction. I could not locate on the online parts catalog. Any...

  3. handheld chartplotter

I want to use our runabout on Lake Michigan and the rivers, so I want a good handheld chartplotter. Maybe a tablet that works even when out of range of cell signals?

  4. Air Conditioning Power Problem

I had my original (I think) AC pump crap out on me, so I installed a new March pump unit over the weekend, which fixed the problem. When we got back to the dock later that day, all was working and we had the AC running for 3-4 hours. All of a sudden the entire system just stopped, like someone...

  6. Perko Anchor and Running light

My wife bought me a brand new light for an anniversary present. The one I had was in perfect shape with the exception of some craz cracking on the upper light lens. The craz cracking has no affect on the light when on and it’s not noticeable from below. These sell for $308.00. I’ll sell this for...

  7. Water Tank Hose

Has anyone ever replaced the interconnecting hose between the two water tanks? I have two tanks, one under the master cabin bed and one under the guest cabin bed. Other than the small access panel in the master cabin closet, it seems impossible to get to the connection underneath the master cabin...

  8. Loud Air Handlers

So, we still have 2 factory cruise air split units. They work like a champ. But the damn air handlers are so noisy. Has anyone addressed this . It's on a 46'c. Maybe insulate the compartments they're in? Improve on the mounting? Anything? I know the obvious answer is replace them with...

  10. 58LRC owners - question on bow flagstaff

Can anyone with a 58LRC tell my what type of "flagstaff" for the bow Hatteras used? Is there a flush mounted socket on the pulpit or a rail mounted staff? The online brochure seems to show a bow rail mounted version but I've seen a picture or two of non-LRC's that have the flush mounted...

  12. Airconditioner fuse (1 amp , glass) blows. What could cause it?

I have the original Lunaire / MTC (controls) air conditioning system for my 1989 40 DC and recently it started blowing a 1 amp glass fuse located in the MTC controls. I have done no recent work on the electrical that would cause this. The fuse is for "system power" is is one of four glass fuses in...

  13. Galley windows leaking/felt replacement questions.

I have sliding windows in my galley which the P.O. had someone liberally (!) caulk up rather than chase leaks down. Yes, it's a real mess. I have removed all of the caulk, including the blob in what I assume is the rectangular drain at the aft of the frame. At this point only the screen will budge...

  14. Davit identification

Been looking at trying to get a deal on a used Davit for my 65c. Object to lift ~ 1200# 460DL Novurania. Current davit seems to groan at the thought of having to lift it. Found a guy selling this one, any word on what kind of davit it is? (Brand/Model) It's telescoping and quoted at 1000#...

  15. 120v 50a

One more electrical question. There was a time marinas had 2 120V 50A hookups. Was there 240 between them? Or were 240 items like the cook top and W/D not available when hooked up to these? The way the panel is set up I don’t see the current making it down to the 240 section. But seems odd you...

  17. Fuse or breaker ?

Just replaced my 1983 Le Marshe 32v charger with a sterling. The orig had fuses built in to the 100lb unit the sterling does not. Should I use a fuse or circuit breaker type ? This is for the DC side.

Searched the forum but not much, I’m starting to think it’s a rare power plant combo, I have 6v53 twin turbo’s looking for various performance numbers, my last boat was a passagemaker trawler burning 3gph at 8 kts lol so needless to say it’s a learning curve finding that sweet spot that the engines...

  19. calling 426 Chrysler owners

About 10 years ago I purchased the thermostat conversion kit as listed here: https://marinepartssource.com/thermo...ysler-2846215k As you can see in the picture, the long hose, which seems to be the one going to the exhaust risers, is located in the lower thermostat house outlet. What...

  20. holding tank won't pump out

When I tried to pump the holding tank today I could get nothing to come through the pump-out hose. I know the suction is good because other boats near me were pumping out just fine (we have pump-out every three slips on the dock). The hose from the waste fitting on the deck to the tank is...
