    I am looking at a 1990 58' Hatteras convertible to purchase. the boat currently has 16v92TA i believe with 1330hp. Hours on the hour indicator is 1700.   8. 58 lrc 4-71 transmissions

    Hi, anyone know what transmissions the 4-71's in the 58 lrc (1975) were coupled with? I know the smaller lrc's used Borg Warner, but that was with 4-53. I also understand the 6-71 installations in the 58 used Allisons.Thanks Kristian

  9. 58 LRC Starter and alternator Voltages

    Hello everyone, I have an opportunity to buy some Detroit parts that I would like to have as spares for when I take possession of our new to us 58 LRC. The problem is the starter and alternators are 24V and I believe the 58 LRC was 32V can anyone confirm that they are 32V.

  12. 58 LRC: 4-71 vs. 6-71

    Response to my prior 58 LRC inquiry suggested 4-71's may underpower going into wind and slop. Inquiry on my behalf at the LRC rally suggested larger injectors would bring the 4-71's power up and would provide plenty of power in those conditions. Comments?

  13. 58 MY air conditioner systems

    All the 58s I have looked at have four or five compressors mounted on the aft bulkhead of the starboard engine compartment with one seawater pump and individual controls throughout the vessel. Is this the original system that is problematical? What is the best system?
