  3. 36C battery banks

Anyone know which battery bank powers the bilge pumps on a 74 36 Convertible? Boat is set up with two 8D's. Another question is when you shut off the battery switch mounted next to each engine does it cut off the power to everything that battery powers or just the engine? Thanks.

  4. Removing grease from eisenglass

I noticed some grease on a new piece of eisenglass this morning and don't want to attempt to remove it until I know the best way. I have only ever treated this enclosure with the off the shelf polish/protectant from West Marine about once a month since it was new last year. I don't exactly know...

  5. Corroded battery cable

My Port Engine Neg Battery cable is badly corroded at the lug where it attaches to the back of the starter. I pulled the cable off the starter today and noted that easily half the wire on what appears to be 1/0-2/0 cable (about 1/2" dia) is corroded away. I didn't peel back the insulation on the...

This may be common knowledge to all of you here but I ran into something yesterday that I haven't seen before. 7. Walker FUELSEP

I saw the thread on soot but thought I would ask for opinions on Walker Fuelseps. From their WEB site: "The FUELSEP® is a "no-maintenance" fuel treatment device that improves the combustion of diesel fuel to burn more completely. Improved combustion means less soot, less noise, lower exhaust...

  11. Temporary Lightmast

The base of the light mast on my 1979 43DC developed some rot ... so until it is repaired I've made a temporary lightmast. I'll try to attach a picture here and I've also put several pictures in my photo album. The existing mast was at an approximate 22.5 degree angle to the deck. I made the...

So, I have 200 feet of 1/4" G4 on the 48MY. I'm mostly inside SF Bay, or in the Delta, and spend most the time anchored in mud (the Bay) or grass (the Delta). Yucky, sticky, mud. Slippery, tangly, grass. Then again, there is some coastal running I want to do that'll take me to 1/2 Moon Bay,...
