  1. Best dry gas/ carb cleaner

My twin engine Chris Craft has been stored for 2 years. I used stabil but this past weekend I got the boat out and one engine would only run at at 1000 rpm. The other only 2000. After running them for 20 minutes I got both to 2300 rpm but I was uncomfortable with the kids on board so I came back...

  2. Classic (looking) Gauge set from Faria

My trim tab gauges, fuel gauges, a tach and a temp is no longer working (they are 40 years old). There is no replacement for the gauges, and even if I find a replacement, some of the gauges will not work with newer senders. So I am thinking about replacing all the gauges, and I found a set that...

  5. New Headhunter Xcaliber

Hi all, Installed a new Headhunter pump on my 43DC. It is mounted on an Amtrol WX-102-PS diaphram tank. I had a GM and i think they are terrific people and great, long lasting products, but a new motor for the GM was almost as much as the whole Xcaliber pump. This pump brings pumping...

  6. New fuel tank size/cost?

I am considering buying a 1964 40' Double cabin. I don't think the fuel tanks have been replaced. Considering the ethanol issue, what can I expect to pay for these tanks? I am capable of doing the work......I think. What is involved with removing the fiberglass ones?

  8. Old fuel Gauge, New Sender - not compatible

I tested the gauge, moving the arm up and down the ohm reader changes. The wire from gauge to sender is good. The negative wire from the tank are connected properly. The current gauge reads full no matter what. Is there a way to modify the old gauge so it works with the new sender?

  9. Eng/Shaft Alignment Procedure

I’m getting ready to replace an eng mount that has sagged (871/M20’s). I know one of you guys have been down this road. I could use some advice. Surprisingly, the shafts, cutlass bearings and struts all looked great. I was amazed to find the shafts centered in the bearings in spite of the...

  11. $$ Lesson for IR thermometer Use!

Just got an email from a friend in NY who gave me the long version of his experience doing some temp checks on his two engines with his new IR gun a couple weeks ago that he wanted to tell me about. 13. Replacing Air Conditioning Thermostats

I want to change out my thermostats to newer ones since I’m beginning to have trouble with a couple of them. One cycles too often, and another one “forgets” to come back on. 15. Genny raw water flow

Hi, I've got a 41TC with a onan 6mdjb genny. How much water should be coming out the exhaust? Should it be a stream (like the AC or bilge pumps) or just a spray (the exhaust is just barley above the water line, so it sort of spits when it's running). Thanks, Bruce.

  17. Buc Boost Interferes with CCTV Signals

The buc boost transformer I use on my dock seems to be causing some sort of analog interference with the 120 volt switcher and slingbox I use to transmit my CCTV camera signals. 18. TV and Internet?

Been doing more research on Sat TV/internet on the boat. Anybody who actually has/is using Sat internet on...
