I can't seem to find the fuel burn tables for 6-71N. I thought I saw them on here once, but I can't find it. Any help would be appreciated.

  2. Where are all the not so perfect hatts?

Obviously, where are the not so perfect ones? Maybe I am being foolish because if the market keeps up the way it is, a decent convertible will be actually affordable to me soon haha. I think I want something in the 50-60 foot rang, convertible....age doesn't matter, running engines (or at least...

  3. Question Galley sink

Need to remove the sink on my 32 FBSF to access the waterfilter head for replacement. Sink has silicone along the edges but also appears to have bolts in each corner under the counter. Cannot see them but can feel the threaded bolt and what feels like a nut up against the bottom of the sink. Has...

  4. Engine room soundproofing

Where do you guys get yours and what is good? I need to add soundproofing to my engine hatches. I removed it during the repower because it was saturated with oil from 25yrs. The new engines are quiet but I just want to see how much quieter they are with the soundproofing.

  5. Water Pump Cover Plate

Has anyone replaced the cover plates on your water pumps with the quick removal type? They have four (4) knurled (?) head bolts that can be thumb tightened and the cover plate as two screw holes and two slots. You simply remove the two bolts in the holes, loosen the two bolts in the slots and...

  6. Removing teak trim and fiberglassing-in the bow pulpit

The teak trim on our 1985 61' MY bow pulpit has deteriorated and rotted to the point where we must dig-it out and remove it or replace it. There's a considerable amount of teak there, and I also think that the current deteriorated condition of the teak is resulting in some leakage into the anchor...

  8. Diesel Electric Repower?

Almost all cruise ships are diesel electric now. Looks like the technology is filtering down to the smaller stuff. To me it looks like you guys that cruise at hull speed have a perfect application (variable pitch prop may be simpler/cheaper thoguh) http://www.ossapowerlite.com/ they have a...

  10. Repower 36c

I may pull the trigger on a used (to be rebuilt) pair of 6b's to repower my 36c (1970). The engines are bobtail, so I would have to start shopping for gears. In past threads others have said that the correct gear down angle is 10 degrees? Is there any varing from this angle or is it the only...

  11. Re:Engine Room Floor Thickness

Does anyone know how thick the plywood above the water tank/between the engines,is on a 1966 41C is? I need to fasten my inverter to the floor but would rather not put a hole in my water tank. On my boat there does not seem to be any visible end of the plywood for me to measure. Thanks, Bruce

  12. Insuring a 65' + boat

I was under the impression that one could not insure a boat over 65' for owner operation unless the owner is a licensed captain, rated for 50tons and over. Is this true? Are there any ways around this restriction? How do you big boat owners deal with this? Any words of warning or wisdom...

  13. Material/Fastner Installer Modification Device - 101

After many years of chipping small bits of gelcoat, creating fractures and otherwise manifesting poor workmanship, I have finally reached the conclusion that really don't know what I'm doing. Ok. That admitted, (I'm embarrassed to ask) how do you drill a small hole in fiberglass/gelcoat, about...

  14. Scentry gas vapor detector not turning on

My scentry gas vapor detector is not even turning on. I tested the cables on the back, and it is getting juice. Time for a new one? I would hate to replace it with something that does not need the same size cut out... Any Ideas?

  16. Good experience with Westerbeke parts

I needed a lift pump for my 15kw Westerbeke and found a sorce that was over $100 less than all the others. Service and advice were excellent. Shipping and handling cost was only what UPS charged. http://www.feathermanenterprises.com/ John Fetherman is the one you will talk to.

  17. Rewiring new float switch

My forward bilge has shower sump with pump and float switch and a bilge pump with float switch. Both pumps are hooked up to a terminal block which has two screws per pump. 18. waiting for the varnish to dry

Well the forward head is 99% done which makes the whole job come in at about 3%. Sure is nice to have a private throne room. Took almost 3 days to strip and clean and varnish the doors and bulkheads to "construction grade". I'm up to 5-6 coats and need to let them cure to finish sand and re-coat. ...

  20. A/C Breaker

My 74 36C's A/C panel is located in the locker in the head, it looks and I'm assuming it's original. It appears I may have a breaker going bad on the salon unit (the breaker on the left side of the box) as it will consistently blow after about 6 hours of use. I have checked to make sure it isn't...
