Every time I come into my slip at night (as was the case last week-end), my nav lights become a topic of conversation. The 225 degree "masthead light" on my 41 is mounted ahead of the windless on the bow, just inches from the rub rail. A couple of the "know it alls" tell me I'm not legal, but as...

  4. No so Modern Maid

Well I'm been putting off the galley remodel long enough. The Admiral wanted this done 4 years ago, but I had other priorities. Now I can't come up with anymore excuses. I pulled out the ModernMaid oven and dishwasher today with the help of a couple of forum members. Here's what she looks...

  5. A question of internals!!

Folks, I am looking for ideas and experiences relating to material types for internal refits. I have a 1969 fiberglass 47' yachtfish that is going through a complete refit internally (I'll be doing it myself) - all the way down to the floors being replaced. I understand the general need for rot...

  7. Modify the Helm Area

Folks, I have a 1987 55 Hatt convertible and will likely have it painted this winter and get a new hardtop. 10. Yep, need a different anchor!

Anchored at St Michaels for two days with a fresh breeze. Anchor (oem Danforth-type). Seemed to hold fine for two days but yesterday, while diving the boat I suddenly found that I could stand up in the water and see above the swim platform! Turning around I found that we were within 6-8 feet of...

The 53MY that I have a deal pending on (Lady Linda, and I'm really happy/excited) still has the original battery charger and no interter. So, when under way or on the hook, if you want to run anything on 120v, you have to run the genset. I really want to get an inverter with a built in smart...
