  2. Hour meter issues

Does anyone have an idea why the hour meter on my port engine keeps running, even though the engine has been turned off and the ignition switch is off? I was doing something in the engine room today and heard this ticking and traced it to the hour meter which was running. So, it must have been...

  4. Need Diesel Sleuth for my Kabota

My tractor, M4900 ran great. Then while running, started to put out white smoke and stopped. Restart a no go and white smoke smells like diesel. Coolant is green with no contaminants. Oil is good color and no water. Had fluids and filters changed about 10 hrs ago. What could cause? Water,...

  5. window tech drawing?

PO "fixed" salon windows with silicone. Got them apart and cleaned up, but can't figure out how the glides, felt, etc go back in. A cross section would remove all doubt. I got replacement felt from Angie, but not nylon wear strips. Guidance? Thx in advance Mark

  7. PO Remedition

Yes the PO painted much of the aframosa panels white. I have been stripping and returning the interior to her former glory. Almost done with the lower passageway walls. He however painted the interior door panel, which are so well made I am hesitant to try and remove the stop strips holding them...

  8. Salon leak-questions about flybridge construction

I believe that I've managed to find all of the leaks dripping into the headliner above the galley stairs, but as I was sealing up the last of them I began to wonder about future leaks. Yes, I will be pulling all of the FB screws that hold the console and re-bedding them with 4200 plus checking for...

  9. 66’ lifting rails

Haven’t posted in a while. Haven’t gotten to awful much done on 34 yet but, plan to haul soon. 1966 34 Convertible. Boat came with Chryslers and no trim tabs. Found a pair of Mercruiser 454’s which, so far look promising. Old school, fresh water cooled. May bore. Main thing I’d like to find out is,...

  10. Galley Maid Macerator Pump Rebuild

Is there any reason to use RAZ Marine over just sending my pumps back to Galley Maid for a rebuild? One pump leaks and the other just hums. I don't really want to rebuild them myself but I would if I thought I could be successful doing it. What are your experiences? Thanks,

  12. Marquipt wheels for stairs

I didn't want to pay the huge price for a new set of wheels from Marquipt, so I purchased a set from Grainger (only $25.00 each). My problem is that the stems fit great, but the friction washer is too large. I took the washers off and there isn't quite enough friction to hold them in. The fit...

  14. Boat on mooring with flat batteries-help

Hi, I am new owner of Buffalo Gal, 1988 54 MY. Boat is now in New Zealand. Has been on mooring for about 4 weeks and batteries are dead! Question is how do I get out of this fix. Onan 20 Gen doesn't have dedicated start batteries and I don't think it charges main batteries anyway. Just the engines...

  17. Compressor Air Tank

While doing a routine engine room check I noticed water dripping from the bottom of our air compressor storage tank. Obviously the tank is rusting through. 19. thanks, but to who?

A few years ago, I bought an oil change pump to replace the one in my boat's plumbed-in oil change system. The original was a Reverso impeller pump- not the greatest. Each impeller basically lasted a season- in other words, one oil change. This year, with the Reverso pump finally not working at...
