  5. DD 8V92Ti cylinder Temp.

Hello, I am seeking advice. In the effort to get the most out of my old engines, I have preformed a couple complete tune ups. Rebuilt the blowers and turbos, bought a couple exhaust manifolds, and a set of injectors. (No, I did not have the injectors flow checked before installation, this I learned...

  8. Engine mounts

Met the mechanic today and the outboard front engine mount on the starboard engine is broken. The steel is fine, just the rubber bushing has crushed as I understand it. We need to raise it close to 1/2 inch. Any ideas? Just a rubber shim or replace the mount?

  9. Still Looking to Reduce Exhaust Noise

A few months back I wrote on this subject and received many interesting responses, most noting how they wish they could hear their Detroits in the middle of winter, but did not receive any suggested solutions. So I am going to try again with more detail. I own a 48 Long Range Cruiser. It is powered...

  11. Zincs

After experiencing some speed loss for a given power setting I had a diver check out the subaquatic portion of Lady Kay. He reported the paint in good shape (it was done a year ago) but the metal dirty. Enough to where, in his opinion, it would cause the noted degradation of performance. Some boats...

  14. Trim tabs, 53MY

What are the benefits of having partially recessed trim tabs like hatteras did on the 53s? At least the early ones. Benett recommends an inch per foot of loa with a 12" cord. They also suggest not exceeding 12" of cord to reduce drag In order to do that I would have to close the recess and put...
