  2. HatterRescue

Well, one of the three Hatts on Lake Lanier went partially down in the last few days. Thankfully, not mine. She may be a rescue opportunity if any of you happen to know someone in the market for a classic project. The owner says she's a 40, but I think actually a 38DC as she was built in...

  3. New washer / dryer issue 1988 52C

Last load done in washer 7 days earlier. This evening, floor adjacent to laundry closet was wet, after pulling panels to determine not plumbing related, scratching head for a few minutes, opened washer to discover tub completely full of water! Pumped out 6" with hand pump, then turned on machine...

  4. 1971 53 with a pair of deere 6.8's

The most recent John Deere "Power Source" brochure has an interesting, if short on detail, article about Tidewater doing a refit of an old 53. The yard owner apparently ended up keeping her after a customer chose not to repair a blown DD and he finished the work on spec. Would be great to get...

  5. Cockpit Ideas Needed

We are nearing the completion of the refit on our new to us 74. This boat comes with an aft cockpit. As part of the refit, I just redid the aft cockpit non-skid and paint. The Admiral has decided that she likes the aft cockpit area for setting up, on a day by day basis, two chaise lounges when we...

  7. Ladder to Swim Platform

Looking for an easy way to get our Labrador Retriever down to the swim platform/dinghy on our 1970 53 MY. We currently have a vertical S/S ladder that runs from the fantail down to the swim platform on the starboard side. One solution would be to replace that ladder with a small platform/transverse...

  8. Flybridge windscreen

The last storm broke the flybridge windscreen on my Hatteras 38 FBDC 1974. I have some remaining parts, but I would be very glad if someone could provide me with the original windscreen measurements, and maybe drawings. Thank you very much in advance. Svein Norway

  10. Furniture slips on hardwood floors?

The galley is gutted and carpet removed from the salon. Now I notice that the sofa and recliner slip easily on the plywood subfloor. I assume it will be similar on the hardwood or worse. What to do? Rubber pads of some kind? I'll post pics of the job soon. For now I'm making coffee in the mid...

  16. Ray marine problem

I have a three year old Raymarine navigation system (C90w) and for the last few months when I turn it on it does not acquire the vessel position or depth. It does no good to turn it on and off but if I throw the breaker to the whole system, it works fine on start- up. Any recommendations before I...

Hey all, I'm new to this forum, and at 23, probably one of the youngest. I live ON Aquia Creek, off the Potomac. Anyway, once I finish up school this year and get a job, I'm going to be in the market for a "seasoned" 42+ sportfish (meaning mid 70's or older haha). I grew up on the water and...

  19. Bottom job cost........

I bought a 1996 70 Sport Deck last year and knew it needed all those years of bottom paint removed to start fresh. You could see patch's coming off from previous layers that were not adhering any more. The boat has no blistering issues so no repairs needed there. What should blasting the bottom and...

  20. found 41 convert for free

Welcome to the family. Is it gas or diesel. If gas you have more to do to get her running. You will need to replace the tanks. Lots of other little things to do on them enjoy.
